Depot System
Solutions
The
bottleneck
The more vehicles in a depot
that need to be supplied with data, the more time
and manpower required to load and download the data
using methods involving portable laptops or infrared
beacons.
A quantum leap
The radio LAN (WLAN) eliminates
this bottleneck. Logically viewed, the system no longer
differentiates between data being transmitted via
air or cable within the depot network. This means
that the on-board computers in the parked vehicles
are addressed in exactly the same way as other computers
in the TCP/IP network of the depot.
Simple
and automatic
Because radio signals are
available throughout the entire depot, the vehicles
can be parked anywhere. It is also possible to address
all on-board computers simultaneously and supply them
with the latest data fully automatically.
